Chevening Scholarships 2026/27 (UK Government)
Fully-funded one-year master's at any UK university. Funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office. Applications open August–November annually.
Chevening is the UK government's global scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office and partner organisations. Awardees study a one-year taught master's at any UK university of their choice, with full tuition, living stipend, airfares and a wealth of exclusive networking events.
What you get
Full tuition fees, monthly living stipend (~£1,400), return economy airfare, arrival and departure allowances, visa fees, and a tailored programme of UK-wide events including a 3-day orientation in London and a final gala.
Eligibility
Citizen of a Chevening-eligible country (most of Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, the Americas, Europe and the Middle East), undergraduate degree that qualifies for UK master's study, at least 2 years (2,800 hours) of work experience, and a clear plan to return home for at least 2 years after the award.
How to apply
Apply online via chevening.org between August and November each year. You need: 2 references, 1 unconditional UK university offer (or a clear plan to get one), and 4 essay questions covering leadership, networking, study choice and career plan.
