The United Nations offers internship opportunities to students and recent graduates across its agencies, funds and programmes. Internships are typically 2-6 months, can be in-person or remote, and are open to applicants from any country.
What you get
Hands-on experience in your field at a UN agency, exposure to multilateral diplomacy, networking with UN staff and fellow interns, and a reference letter. Most UN internships are unpaid but some agencies (World Bank, IMF, UNFPA) pay stipends.
Eligibility
Enrolled in a graduate or postgraduate programme (or graduated within the last 12 months) in a field related to the agency's work, fluent in English (additional UN languages a plus), and at least 18 years old.
